I am pursuing a B.S. in Biological Sciences at UIC. My interest in DNA stems from working as a research assistant at the UIC College of Dentistry where I first encountered recombinant DNA technology to study cancer cells. The wealth of information present in such a small molecule and the ability to manipulate it intrigued me! As a research assistant, I aid in preparing DNA of the Erythroxylaceae plant family for sequencing. I plan to pursue a career in veterinary medicine and use the knowledge I cultivate here to continue research with DNA in the future.
